PARTY FAVORS – PARTY FAVORS! A few weeks ago my cousin had a Birthday Party for her one year old son and made cookies in a jar for party favors. They turned out so cute I thought I would share the idea with you.  ENJOY!

Cookies in a Jar

•Buy Clear Jars (you can find these at Walmart) and add the following ingredients.

1 1/3 cup all purpose flour, spooned into measuring cup & leveled
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup cooking oats
3/4 cup m&ms
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar

• Add a tag to the jar with the following information so your guest will know how to make their cookies:

•Mix the dry ingredients in the jar with the following:

1 slightly beaten egg
1/2 cup butter (melted slightly in the microwave)
1 teaspoon vanilla

•Roll the cookie dough into 1 1/2 inch balls

•Bake for about 10 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven.

Dinner Time, Dinner Time – the nightly challenge so many of us face. Well this week I decided to try something new at our house. It was successful and actually very easy to make. I added broccoli and a salad to the main dish and it was delicious – ENJOY!

After School Chicken Sandwiches

4 Chicken Breast (cooked and seasoned)

1/2 Onion, chopped

2 T. Butter

8 oz. Cream Cheese

1 can refrigerated crescent rolls

•Cook chicken and shred

•Saute onion in butter

•Mix cooked chicken, cream cheese and sauteed onion.

•Place a spoonful of chicken mixture in an open crescent roll.

•Roll up and seal.

•Bake 350 for 15 minutes

When I had my daughter Madison one of my best friends brought me this dish. I remember when she brought it over she said this is the perfect “comfort food” to have after having a baby and boy was she right. Anything made with whipping cream has to be labeled comfort food right?!? I love to serve up this dish in the winter and because it does fall under “comfort food” at my house I only make it a few times a year. I think it is safe to say my family LOVES it – ENJOY!

Chicken Queso

4 Chicken Breast (cooked)

1 Onion

1 lb Velveeta

1 Can Rotel

1 Pint Whipping Cream

2 TBSP Butter

•Saute – onion and rotel

•Microwave – cheese and whipping cream until melted

•Mix in Chicken to the above ingredients

•Serve with Chips
