Inspirations
I love summer for so many reasons, but one of my favorites is the 4th of July. Hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, homemade ice cream, flag cakes and you can’t forget FIREWORKS! This year my inspiration came from one of my dad’s old wheelbarrows. When my neighbor saw me bring the wheelbarrow to the front yard, her cackling began. I knew then she would soon be jealous when she saw the finished project I was going to create.
My creation:

I went to Home Depot and Lowe’s to purchase my flowers. Lowe’s was running a special on vinca hanging baskets, so I purchased three. I filled the bottom of the wheelbarrow with landscape rocks to help filter the water. You can also drill holes, but the rocks were much easier. After you place your rocks on the bottom, fill with dirt and plant your flowers.
In the middle of the wheelbarrow on top of the dirt I put three terracotta planters with flowers and flags. I bought my flags at Target in the dollar section.
The flowers/plants that I used all love sun. They are:
• Vincas
• Periwinkles
• Sweet potato plants
