With Memorial Day approaching, this time of year is another of my favorites. I love working in my yard planting flowers – it just makes me happy. I enjoy getting things ready for any holiday and Memorial Day is no exception. Memorial Day can set the theme for my summer because before I know it the 4th of July is here and I can continue with the theme – EVERYTHING FLAGS! I think I secretly love decorating with flags because it makes me think of one of my favorite quaint places, Nantucket.

I was recently at one of my favorite stores in Dallas, Sample House. I walked in the store and my insides started getting excited as I saw their display of red, white and blue. My creative juices started flowing as I thought about what I needed to add to my decor this year for Memorial Day and the rest of the summer.
