Sunday Sunday: Ready, Set, Go!
“What’s for dinner?” These three words that can make even the bravest of women shudder with fear. I almost want to cradle into the fetal position when my kids or husband ask this, and my only answer is to go scrambling to the fridge to see what edible concoction I might be able to whip together.

Well, friends, fear no more! Beginning today, we’re going to try something: recipe sharing. It’s an old but great practice. My best recipes have come from my family and friends sharing their favorites with me. Maybe this will be helpful, maybe it won’t be, but let’s try it together.

Each Sunday I’ll post a recipe. I’ll start out with mine, but I’d love for you to give us your great recipes in the comments section so that I can share yours as well. The more each of us shares, the more great recipes we’ll get.

You might want to use our Menu Planner with perforated shopping list to help you get organized and get shopping. For even more organization, check out our Family Calendar that let’s you fill in who will be home for dinner each night of the week.

I hope this brings value to your life. Let’s try together and see what happens. Without any further ado, I give you the first recipe:

With the Super Bowl coming to DALLAS for the first time, I thought what better recipe to share than our families favorite Queso Dip. I originally got this recipe from our good friend Anne, who is an amazing cook. You can be sure we will be serving up some queso and chips next week for the big game.

Yummy, Yummy Queso

1 lb. Velveeta

1 lb. Spicy Sausage

1 small can diced green chilis

1 jalapeno (chopped)

1 can Spicy Ro-Tel

In a skillet, brown the sausage and make sure it’s broken up into small pieces. Plug in your crock-pot slow cooker and turn to the high setting. Use a crock-pot liner (found by the baggies and foil in the grocery store) and you will not have the dreaded clean up. Add the Velveeta cubes to the crock-pot. Dump the Ro-Tel and green chilis on top. Heat the mixture on high until all the cubes are melted, then reduce the heat to the low setting. Add the sausage and jalapeno, continue to heat on low for the next 30 minutes, stirring every so often. Serve with chips.
