“What’s for dinner?” These three words that can make even the bravest of women shudder with fear. I almost want to cradle into the fetal position when my kids or husband ask this, and my only answer is to go scrambling to the fridge to see what edible concoction I might be able to whip together.
Well, friends, fear no more! Beginning today, we’re going to try something: recipe sharing. It’s an old but great practice. My best recipes have come from my family and friends sharing their favorites with me. Maybe this will be helpful, maybe it won’t be, but let’s try it together.
Each Sunday I’ll post a recipe. I’ll start out with mine, but I’d love for you to give us your great recipes in the comments section so that I can share yours as well. The more each of us shares, the more great recipes we’ll get.
You might want to use our Menu Planner with perforated shopping list to help you get organized and get shopping. For even more organization, check out our Family Calendar that let’s you fill in who will be home for dinner each night of the week.
I hope this brings value to your life. Let’s try together and see what happens. Without any further ado, I give you the first recipe:
With the Super Bowl coming to DALLAS for the first time, I thought what better recipe to share than our families favorite Queso Dip. I originally got this recipe from our good friend Anne, who is an amazing cook. You can be sure we will be serving up some queso and chips next week for the big game.
Yummy, Yummy Queso
1 lb. Velveeta
1 lb. Spicy Sausage
1 small can diced green chilis
1 jalapeno (chopped)
1 can Spicy Ro-Tel
In a skillet, brown the sausage and make sure it’s broken up into small pieces. Plug in your crock-pot slow cooker and turn to the high setting. Use a crock-pot liner (found by the baggies and foil in the grocery store) and you will not have the dreaded clean up. Add the Velveeta cubes to the crock-pot. Dump the Ro-Tel and green chilis on top. Heat the mixture on high until all the cubes are melted, then reduce the heat to the low setting. Add the sausage and jalapeno, continue to heat on low for the next 30 minutes, stirring every so often. Serve with chips.

I LOVE my Menu Planner! In fact, I was at the store last week and saw Amy A. ~ We both had our perforated shopping lists in hand! (and of course, awesome bags!!!)
Love your stuff as you know, and thanks for the recipe!
I never knew there was a crockpot liner…I sometimes don’t use my crockpot just because I hate scrubbing it out! Thanks for the idea!
Yummo! Thanks fir the recipe and the encouragement to get my planner going again. It takes the dress out of meal planning and saves me so much time and money!
I LOVE to cook, but HATE the meal planning part!! Thanks for the recipe! I need to buy a meal planner from you and start planning our dinners at least the DAY before….not 30 minutes before!! Thanks, M & C!! You are GREAT!!!
I’m no longer positive where you are getting your info, but great topic. I must spend a while studying much more or figuring out more. Thank you for great information I was on the lookout for this information for my mission.
